The Kuipers family of Martintown are repeat clients — over the years we've renovated their home and built their equipment storage facilities. This time the job was bigger: an addition to the cattle barn, and the farm's transition from a milking parlour to a robotic milking system.
A robotic dairy changes how the whole building works. Cow traffic, power, layout and clearances all have to serve the robots — which now milk 60 cows, three times a day, around the clock.
Farm buildings can't take a season off. We scheduled the build around a working dairy, and the operation kept milking from the first day of construction to the last.
